Good afternoon,
We wish to use the "DNS Query Monitoring Wizard" to add a service that will alarm if a DNS name server is not resolving properly. How do "turn off" or unconfigure the SSH service that comes along when you set up the service via the DNS Query Monitoring Wizard -- it indicates you need to do this in the "advanced configuration".
Thank you,
Mark

Re: DNS Query Monitoring Wizard
Not sure which wizard you are using that is also adding an ssh service, but you can remove services by doing the following:
Service Detail -> Select service to remove -> Configure Tab -> Delete this service
Service Detail -> Select service to remove -> Configure Tab -> Delete this service
Re: DNS Query Monitoring Wizard
Hi,
Thanks for your response, but I get the following message when I tried that method to remove the service. I added the service using the "DNS Query" Monitoring Wizard (a plugin). DNS Query -- Monitor a host or domain lookup/query via DNS.
Could not find a unique id for this service
Service cannot be deleted using this method
One or more errors were detected that prevent the service from being deleted.
Possible causes include...
The service is associated with other hosts, services, or objects that need to be deleted first
The service is generated by an advanced monitoring configuration entry
The service is maintained in a static or external configuration file
To resolve this issue...
Use the Nagios Core Configuration Manager to delete the service - or -
Manually delete the service definition from the appropriate external configuration file

Re: DNS Query Monitoring Wizard
Can you send a screen shot of this service?
Re: DNS Query Monitoring Wizard
I had trouble getting a screen capture (kept invert the color or something) - anyway, I hope this helps.

Re: DNS Query Monitoring Wizard
You can go to: Core Config Manager->Monitoring->Services and search for this service by typing "ssh" in the search box. Find the service, that is associated with "www.google.com" and click on the "Information" Action button to see if deletion is possible. If there are no dependencies, you can delete the service and Apply Configuration.
