Hello everyone,
Here is my firt post.
To begin with, I'm just starting out in the monitoring world. So Nagios in its current version seemed the most relevant to fill my need: a simple and fast deployment.
I recently deployed your Nagios XI 5.4.0 tool on a minimal CentOS 6.8 as shown on your site.
The deployment is going pretty well so far, I just have a few questions and a bug, I guess, at the tool level.
I monitor several switches HP 2520; 1800-24g; 1810g and a levelone ges2451. The supervision via snmp goes well except at the level of the bandwidth which remains at zero. When I look in detail, the graphs are done well but the measurements are at 0. I want to know how I can solve this problem.
Also, wanting to supervise especially the network part on my servers and clients, I would like to know how to monitor the bandwidth of the network card of my server machines and clients.
Finally, I have a SAN array that has a particular plugin, I would like to integrate it in Nagios so as to be able to supervise this one.
Thank you in advance for your help.

How were the switches added? Via the Network Switch / Router wizard? This should automatically add the required perf data backend.
What OS is this installed on?
It's been some time since you installed the system, are the graphs still not functioning?

For the bandwidth always being zero, the 2 links below are possible solutions that may fix the issue for you.

Your question about the SAN plugin, we would need more details about the plugin.

The switches were added in this way. I mean, I have bandwith graph but mesures stay at 0. I have put a jpg to be more explicit.avandemore wrote:How were the switches added? Via the Network Switch / Router wizard? This should automatically add the required perf data backend.
I have some Windows 7,8,10 for clients and 2008r2,2012 for servers.avandemore wrote:What OS is this installed on?
My Nagios is on since 18 hours and still the same.avandemore wrote:It's been some time since you installed the system, are the graphs still not functioning?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Yeah thanks for this help, it was really helpful. But ini my question I have not been very clear. Now, the plugin is added but how can I add my SAN device in Nagios to attache the plugin to it ?rkennedy wrote:If you are looking to manage plugins - see this page https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdfFinally, I have a SAN array that has a particular plugin, I would like to integrate it in Nagios so as to be able to supervise this one.

After reading the doc, seems doesn't solve my problem.tgriep wrote:For the bandwidth always being zero, the 2 links below are possible solutions that may fix the issue for you.

Your question about the SAN plugin, we would need more details about the plugin.
I followed instructions and the command LANG=C LC_ALL=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg returned anything and this line "* soft nofile 2048;* hard nofile 2048" were already in the file.
The graph are shown and visible but the measures are at 0. I added a picture in the previous post.
The plugin has been done by the constructor. I added it to Nagios thanks to rkennedy for this but now I'm searching how to add the SAN to apply the plugin to it.
Thanks everyone for your helps.

Thanks for posting the graph, it helps in troubleshooting.
Could you post a screen shot of the Advanced Tab from the Service Details screen for that interface?
Also, can you post how that service is configured in the Core Config Manager?
Thanks.
