Timeperiods again

Post by dlukinski »

Hello XI support

We are trying to exclude past downtime from SLA reports as follows:

to 24x7 timeperiod (copied & renamed) we add exclusion (say, january 21 00:00-24:00) / assuming this excludes entire january 21st from the reported timeperiod.
- this does not seem to work as expected. Looks like this period still included into the report.

Take a look at this KB article and see if it makes the exclusions work for you.

ARTICLE: This is what was assumed, but there seem to be no effect: like exclusion time is not there.

I'll have to do some more testing but it looks like the reports do not honor the Excluded time periods.

If the server's were in scheduled downtime, you can use the Hide Scheduled Downtime for that report to hide that.

Thank you for confirming the bug / could we fix the reporting?
- we are trying to deal with unscheduled downtimes this way (when some mainteance was not scheduled prior, but not suppose to affect SLA either)
- also if we have maintenance over 1-2 floating weekends in a month, making it part of a single timeperiod is very problematic

unless we really specify every weekend separately from monday-friday?

I files a bug report for this and you can reference this TASK ID 10825 for any status.
If you know that you are going to do maintenance on a system before hand, schedule it in downtime and then you can select to hide that in the report.
Other than that, you could create a Monday - Friday timeperiod and add in the weekend days you want by using the Month Day to get what you want.

Hi

Yes it worked when using month days instead of weekdays to the days of mainteance
Please close this case and I am to wait for this bug to be resolved at some point

Thank you
