Nagios Upgrade Via tar.gz - Config Files

Post by Eireocean »

Good Day,

Will an upgrade via tar.gz preserve all current .cfg files ?

Regards

Yeah - it should. If you're upgrading to a new major version though (nagios 3 -> nagios 4), it may overwrite some of your files though due to new structuring. I haven't tested it out though.

Always a safe call to back them all up quick with a cp to tmp beforehand.

It sounds like this issue has been resolved. Is it okay if we lock this thread? Thanks for choosing the Nagios forums!
