That is good news that the server is working now.

The way it works, is if the server is using the Postgres database and you upgrade XI, it continues to use the Postgres database.
To migrate from the Postgres database to MYSQL is a manual process and doesn't happen on upgrades.
Moving from RHEL6 to 7 shouldn't be an issue if you do a backup and restore and then run an upgrade on the 7 server to update the files.
The backup script that is used to backup the server, copies all of the configurations and the binaries and when restored, may not run on the new system so the upgrade is needed to be run.
