That doesn't quite exist, unfortunately. SNMP is, technically, acting as an agent when you are querying it, and if that is off the table then the only options are other agents like NRPE or NCPA. A passive agent like NRDS could be used if you are concerned about opening ports on the remote machine, but that is still an agent that needs to be installed and managed.

Just checking in since we have not heard from you in a while. Did @rkennedy's post clear things up or has the issue otherwise been resolved?

@rkennedy, thanks for sharing valuable information.

Problem is SSH also not allowing the client, due to security reason.

Want know can we use NSCA as agentless monitoring.

NSCA will still require an agent on the machine you wish to monitor.

If I am wrong please correct me, in NSCA addon need install on Nagios Server and on client need add one script in crontab for sending check details.

Request you to explain difference between NSCA and NRDP.

From https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nrd ... erview.pdf
NRDP has several benefits over NSCA, including:
• NRDP uses standard ports and web protocols, which means that firewall configuration and client development is simplified
• NRDP uses the Apache web server to provide optional SSL encryption and authentication
• NRDP supports multi-line host and service check output
• NRDP write check output directly to the Nagios Core spool directory – bypassing the external command file for increased performance
Additional info at https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... -Addon.pdf

Strictly speaking, NSCA does not require crontab, but that is certainly one way to do it.

Please let us know if you need any additional information.
