Monitor Ubuntu network card utilisation

Post by stebbo »

Hi All,

I am monitoring a ubuntu host (with nrpe) and would like to monitor the network card utilisation? Is this something I can do easily?

Cheers,
Chris.

You can run the "Network Switch / Router" wizard against the Ubuntu machine, provided you installed/configured SNMP on the client.

Example:

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

There is a task in their development queue (TASK ID 9558) to add network card info to SNMP checks, so you wouldn't have to define this check separately from the rest, like cpu, ram, disk. Not sure how far they are with it, hopefully this will find way to nrpe checks also.

That FR is Pending Approval, so it has not been rejected.

@stebbo, did you have any other questions?
