Yes, the way you entered in the macro names in the wizard look correct but in your example of the snmpwalk you ran from the command line,
you were using different Authentication and Privileged protocols.
Make sure they are correct.

Take a look in this folder on the XI server

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagiosxi/tmp
You should see a snmpwalk-xxxxxxxxx file, that file is created when the wizard it run and should have some clue as to why the login failed.

Hmm this is all i'm seeing: (and yeah I verified with my unix admin I should be using SHA & AES (when I took the screen shot I had hit the back button and they defaulted back to those values you see)

[nagios@************* tmp]$ ls
configwizards_api_versions.xml configwizard-website.zip

Nevermind I was using the Linux Server SNMP scan, after I used the walk this got printed to that directory:

snmpwalk: Timeout (Sub-id not found: (top) -> mib-2)

When you run the SNMP Walk wizard, increase the timeout value to 600 seconds.
It looks like the 15 second timeout is happening and the wizard stops running.
Some devices have so much information that it could take many minutes to retrieve all of the information.

Just an update on this I think my firewall settings are still blocking me... every change last week that got implemented had problems and my trace route isn't getting through.

So it may be an internal issue i'm just waiting to hear back from our network team's seniors...

Thanks for the assistance thus far.
