Nagios XI with out of date Nagios Core

Post by djbrown84 »

Greetings,

Please excuse the ignorance if this posted or found in a FAQ :) I have searched and can not find an answer.

My question is why does the latest release of Nagios XI come with Nagios Core 3.2.3 instead of 3.3.1? There are several improvements I would love to implement. My only assumption is the latest version of Nagios Core conflicts with NagiosXI??

Thank you!

XI will periodically trail core in releases. There are a couple reasons for this, but the main one is integration.

Core is a community project whereas XI is an Enterprise level product. Core can live on the cutting edge, whereas before updated items (including Core) are integrated into XI, we like to make sure there will be no adverse side affects. There would be no way for us to test this if we delivered a new version of XI the same day that a new version of Core had come out.

That being said, expect to see the version of Core that is delivered with XI to catchup in the next couple releases.
