Help with SNMP trap alerts

Post by dshearon »

Good afternoon,

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. We have some SNMP traps configured, they are being received and show up in the correct location. We have been unable to configure the received traps to send a critical alert. I think I have tracked down that I will need to add some config info to the snmptt.conf file but I am unsure of the proper syntax for everything. Thanks in advance for the time.

Take a look at the SNMP Trap Tutorial at the following link. It has a lot of information on how SNMP Traps work in XI.
If you look at the section called "Create Custom Events In SNMPTT", it has the instructions setting Critical and Warning alerts for Traps.
