Take a look at this document for setting up Email on the XI server.
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ations.pdf

To setup the XI server to forward emails through your Exchange server, you would have to go to the Admin > Manage Email Settings menu.

Change the Mail Method to SMTP and fill in the information for your Exchange server under the SMTP Settings section.
You will have to talk to the Exchange admin to get a valid username, password, port and security settings as well as a valid email address you can use in the Send Mail From: field.
Most Exchange servers require a login to forward emails through it.

Update the settings and click on the "Send a Test Email" button.
If all is well, you should see that the message was sent, it not, resolve the issue and try sending the test email again.
