Veritas Netbackup Monitoring

Hi Team,

Looking for veritas netbackup monitoring single plugin, which is monitor and alert on Backup Status, Drive path status, Tape status in tape library etc.

Any third party application integrated with Nagios XI to monitoring the same.

Please explain netbackup monitoring how works, its work with nrpe or on the basis of SNMP.

check out the exchange i don't know of any built in xi plugins that do this except maybe the snmpwalk wizard.

Already gone through shared URL and found some plugin, but fulfill the our requirement.

Have you know any third tool to integrate with Nagios XI.

Please share any another way or idea to maximum monitoring of Veritas NetBackup and NT Backup.

We do not currently have any specific documentation or plugins for Veritas NetBackup. The Nagios Exchange or Google are your best options currently.

I found this plugin which seems to check the Windows backup log on Windows Server environments:

Otherwise NSClient++ and check_wmi_plus have options for basic Windows folder/mount monitoring. Here's our documentation for using both of those things:

We tried Nagios exchange netbackup plugins, but they are not fulfilling our requirement.

If you know any third party tool for Monitoring NetBackup, please share otherwise close the thread.

You'd still need to set up the SNMP commands properly, but netbackup does have MIBs: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH77322

Looks like none of the current checks on exchange use SNMP, so this would appear to be a different method. Both OP and @tacolover101 mention SNMP, but it doesn't look like it was really explored.
