SMS sends from different sender every time

Hi All,

I hope this is a quick fix...

I am currently running Nagios Core and Nagios XI as I am migrating to XI.

I have SMS delivery setup in Core and it works and it is allways sent by "[email protected]"

I have SMS delivery setip in XI and it works and it is sent by something different everytime... "1 (410) 200-539", "1 (410) 200-540", etc

Is there a way to change that in XI so that it sends from the same sender everytime?

Nagios XI doesn't send SMS's. It sends email to an email to SMS gateway. You should talk to the SMS provider as they set that type of information.

Correct ... I have Core and XI setup to send email to SMS Gateway.

I would have expected them to behave the same way...

But they do not.

that is why I suspect a different setting in XI

It is not a setting in XI. How could XI dictate the CID on an SMS when sent via email? You can try manually sending 3 emails to the email gateway XI is using and watch for the increment.

Your last quote made me think ...

In Core I created a separate contact for sending mail to SMS... %number%@mms.att.net

I remembered that XI was using %number%@txt.att.net

After I changed XI to mms.att.net, It now works in the same fashion as the Core does...
