Good Dynamics / BlackBerry Monitoring
Good Dynamics / BlackBerry Monitoring
I have a request to monitor our Good/BlackBerry server and processes. I am monitoring the Good process and service on our in-house servers but we had an issue where the BlackBerry Datacenter had experienced an issue which impacted us. Apparently this picture attached shows the address and ports to check and I am wondering what is the best method to monitor these? Is it possible to monitor ACK responses on TCP ports? We are just trying to leverage Nagios XI to help us identify issues faster when Good/BlackBerry has issues considering most of our Senior Management leverage this service on their mobile devices.

Re: Good Dynamics / BlackBerry Monitoring
You can use check_tcp for basic checks assuming the listener is a tcp one. check_http may also be useful. However it is not enough to give IP/ports for comprehensive advice since the protocol used in the pair is probably what should be tested.

Just checking in since we have not heard from you in a while. Did @avandemore's post clear things up or has the issue otherwise been resolved?

No, the problem is trying to simulate sending and receiving an email message to ensure everything is working properly. I think that is beyond what Nagios is capable of.
The suggestion was nice but not completely what I was looking for. You can close this thread.
