Re: Nagios XI no performance graphs

The extra forward slash doesn't effect the command so don't worry about it.
Let's reset the permissions on the perfdata folder and all of the sub folders as well by running the following as root.

Code: Select all

chown -R nagios.nagios /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata
chmod -R 777 /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata
and the var folder

Code: Select all

chown nagios.nagios /usr/local/nagios/var
chmod 777 /usr/local/nagios/var
Then, restart the following processes by running

Code: Select all

service npcd restart
service nagios restart
Post is this solves the issue or not.

No joy. Still no performance graphs.
The log file /usr/local/nagios/var/perfdata.log is still empty as well.

Is selinux enabled on the system?
To find out, run the following as root.

Code: Select all

sestatus
It it is enabled or enforcing, then it will have to be disabled.

To Disable SELinux Permanently
To permanently disable SELinux, use your favorite text editor to open the file /etc/sysconfig/selinux as follows:

Code: Select all

vi /etc/sysconfig/selinux
Then change the directive SELinux=enforcing to SELinux=disabled as shown below.

Code: Select all

SELINUX=disabled
Then, save and exit the file, for the changes to take effect, you need to reboot your system.

Wait for about 15 minutes after rebooting and see if the graphs start to populate with data.

Selinux was not enabled.

Code: Select all

[root@nagios ~]# sestatus
SELinux status: disabled

In addition to what dwhitfield asked, can you run the following commands, and show the output?

Code: Select all

grep ramdisk /usr/local/nrdp/server/config.inc.php /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/config.inc.php /etc/fstab
cat /etc/sysconfig/nagios
Also, post the entire /etc/init.d/nagios file.

Requested info below...

/etc/sudoers

Code: Select all

## Sudoers allows particular users to run various commands as
## the root user, without needing the root password.

## Examples are provided at the bottom of the file for collections
## of related commands, which can then be delegated out to particular
## users or groups.
##
## This file must be edited with the 'visudo' command.

Re: Nagios XI no performance graphs

Post by mgrover »

Could this by any chance be a problem with the mrtg install on the box? I was poking around in yum and saw several mrtg packages.
There was a package nagiosxi-mrtg.x86_64 that was not installed but a package mrtg.x86_64 that was.
On a whim I tried to install nagiosxi-mrtg.x86_64 but got conflicts.

Can you show the output of the following commands?

Code: Select all

uname -a
cat /etc/*release
rpm -qa | grep 'mrtg\|rrdtool'
tail -20 /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/perfdataproc.log
cat /usr/local/nagios/etc/pnp/process_perfdata.cfg
