There are a few ways to do things on the XI side...or were you talking about adding it to the NSClient files on the hosts?

As for XI, for example, you can use the copy the service and then modify the host. You still have to touch each one in that case, but you aren't starting from scratch. Templates and groups are other ways to accomplish faster configs. We can go into more detail on those if you like.

Well, my check seems to be working on the first batch of machines, and the new batch of machine I added it to. keeping fingers crossed.

as for adding the check to many machines at once.....here is what I have done so far.

Went to one of the checks that I already setup, and then clicked the 'manage hosts' button. Then just added additional hosts to it.

Adding multiple hosts to a service check is one way to to it, another way it to create a hostgroup, add your hosts to that group and then add that hostgroup to the services.
That way, to do and changes, you would only have to edit the hostgroup and anywhere that hostgroup is setup in a service check, they will get updated at once.
Less editing in the long run.

Good idea, thank you.
The one downside (that's ive seen so far) is that since doing just one check, and applying that check to the hosts........It only annoys the person (people) that is set for that 1 check. (There might be people I want to bug more often than others. Like myself)

Since the (purpose of this thread) is completed and still working, this thread can be closed.

Thank you!
