Email Notification
I was wondering if someone could tell me how to add an email address to receive notification based off my "notification settings"
right now it is going to [email protected] I would like it to go to my email dforbes@<domain.com> for now while testing.
Please let me know how to do this.
thank you

Re: Email Notification
I went through this... Here is what I did.
Core Configuration Manager. Contact definitions can be found and changed by navigating to Configure > Core
Config Manager > Alerting > Contacts. From here, you may select a contact, or click Add New to create an additional contact. Any
contact definition must contain the following to be labeled as “valid.”
when applying the config getting the following error.
Error: Contact 'Donny Forbes' has no service notification commands defined!
Error: Contact 'Donny Forbes' has no host notification commands defined!

Re: Email Notification
It sounds like this issue has been resolved. Is it okay if we lock this thread? Thanks for choosing the Nagios forums!

Re: Email Notification
I have sent myself a test email to make the mail server was working and it was. See below.
This is a test email from Nagios XI
I am curious to know if my notifications are working. I have attached to pics to this. Based how they look it should be working, but I did not get an notification unless I am missing something.
See attached files.

Re: Email Notification
You could be running into https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... Mailer.pdf
Are you using nagiosadmin or another account?
Can you PM me your Profile? You can download it by going to Admin > System Config > System Profile and click the ***Download Profile*** button towards the top. If for whatever reason you *cannot* download the profile, please put the output of View System Info (5.3.4+, Show Profile if older) in the thread (that will at least get us some info). This will give us access to many of the logs we would otherwise ask for individually. If security is a concern, you can unzip the profile take out what you like, and then zip it up again. We may end up needing something you remove, but we can ask for that specifically.
After you PM the profile, please update this thread. Updating this thread is the only way for it to show back up on our dashboard.

Re: Email Notification
For clarity, I know you are looking at nagiosadmin for the notifications report, but is that actually the one you are modifying? I can't tell in the contact management screenshot.
