setting up nagios to work with cisco

Post by lordasb1 »

I have a question

just setting up nagios xi, but we have twin nexus 9k boxes with 80gb pipe between them, each of the feeder cisco stacks has twin 10gb links to make 20gb pipes

how can I show this on a map or view? does nagios handle the links/bonded links thought put correctly ?

thanks

Typically, a bonded interface would show up as it's own interface and if you run the Network Switch / Router wizard, you should be able to measure the Bandwidth and the status of the bonded interface.
As long as it is selected and the settings adjusted when the wizard was run, you should be able to monitor it.
We don't have access to a device with bonded interfaces but it should work if it can be polled through SNMP.

If you do get it monitored in Nagios XI, you should be able to view it's status in the Service Details screen for the device.
