Installation Issues with Nagios XI

Post by sartecat »

Linux Distribution and version? CentOS 7 64 bit
VMware Image or Manual Install of XI? Manual Install of XI
Are there special configurations on your system, ie; is Gnome installed? Are you using a proxy? Are you using SSL? None of the above

I am following the Nagios XI Installation Guide pdf. When I run the ./fullinstall it says INSTALLATION ERROR! at the bottom. I think it's something to do with mysql library. I understand that mysql is no longer in use and I have to use MariaDB.

Please help. I'm doing an evaluation of Nagios for my internship and I need it to work for my testing environment.

What's the output of sestatus? Can you attach your /etc/sudoers?

Lastly, you might just want to try one of our pre-built VMs: https://www.nagios.com/downloads/nagios-xi/

Thank you. I am using nagios core now. But I also want to do an evaluation for Nagios XI. A VM would work fine. Thank you again!

You're welcome. If you run into any issues with the functions of the VM, those should probably go in a new thread.
