Editing comments for hosts and services

Hello,

Is it possible to have an edit in a comment once it is posted? We are trying to edit the time stamp that it assigns.

The purpose of this is that if a host or a service goes down within nagios, we then report it and document it outside of nagios to their appropriate places. We would like to have the ability to edit the acknowledgement or comment to match the time with the one that is documented when the report is completed with its processing.

We want to do this for a customer, with the way we do it now it is a bit of a hassle so I just wanted to ask you guys and see if there is a better way to do this.

I also wanted to know if there was a way to see the history of all of the comments that were posted on host or services.

Maybe the history tab addon is something for you:

I don't know of a way to edit the comments though.

That functionality doesn't currently exist for editing comments, would you like me to submit a feature request for this?

You didn't need to unzip the file... Install the component in Nagios XI by going to: Admin > Manage Components > Browse > historytab.zip > Upload & Install
