NLS and VIPs

Post by benhank »

Hey guys!
I have 2 NLS servers NLSp01 and NLSp02

We are thinking about assigning a round robin style VIP for the 2 machines and configuring the sending devices to send to the VIP and not the server's IP addys. Will this work?
the idea is that if on server goes down logs will be rerouted to the remaining server, causing us to not lose data in the event of an outage.

That is a pretty common setup. If you search the forum you'll find a number of threads regarding this setup. Let us know if you have any specific questions we can help with.
