Nagios Fusion 4 - http 500 error - blank page

After the Fusion 4 upgrade, the Nagios Fusion URL is blank, http 500 error.

This entry is in the installation log:

Setting up the Nagios Fusion database...
ERROR 1396 (HY000) at line 3: Operation CREATE USER failed for 'fusion'@'localhost'

This is a Nagios Fusion 4 instance upgraded from 2014r1.1, on CentOS 6.

Can you provide the steps you took in order to attempt the upgrade?

Also, did you take a snapshot or a backup prior to performing the upgrade?

I'm bringing up an environment to test and recreate the error.

I followed the instructions in the 'Fusion_Upgrade_Instructions.pdf'. However the blank page did not occur until I tried to add the 'active_directory_fusion.zip' component. If this is too difficult to repair, I can restore from back up.

Old dashlets and components do not work in Nagios Fusion 4!

Try the following to remove the component and see if this fixes the blank page problem:

rm -rf /usr/local/nagiosfusion/html/includes/components/active_directory

Perhaps we're doing a bad job of posting this information regarding old components and dashlets not working. In either case, I apologize.

So you followed the instructions in the pdf - can you link to the exact document that you used please? And you stated that it errored during the CREATE USER ..did the installation stop at that time?

Thanks bheden, removing those components with the command you mentioned enabled Fusion and I can logon again.

Everything was fine until I uploaded the active directory component. The upgrade completed and did not stop at any point.

Well, like I said - the old dashlets and components don't work with the new Fusion 4 - I filed a bug to make a detection when uploading a component - will try and have that implemented by the first bugfix release.
