Re: Defunct process in Remote server by Nagios
There are around 2048 defunct Nagios processes on the AIX server. Even we are unable to kill the processes with root access.Could please please help to find the root cause of the issue .
Re: Defunct process in Remote server by Nagios
How did you install NRPE and Nagios plugins on the client? What is the document/guide that you followed? Was monitoring via check_nrpe working before? Is it taking too long time to run/execute some of the checks?
If you can't delete the defunct processes, I would recommend rebooting the remote machine.
I see that you have 29 commands that are enabled in the nrpe.cfg file. How many checks are you running against the client? Are you running 29 checks? Is it possible that it is taking too much time for some of the checks to run/execute?
Can you show us the processes running on the client, along with the system log?
