How to monitor specific application on ubuntu with nagios

Hello Everyone

Am new to Nagios, I learnt some of the features in the Nagios.
Now I need to know how to monitor specific application which is running on the remote system (ex: suppose Jira is an application which is running on the remote system I want to know how much and what all resources are consumed by Jira ). Suggest me how to do this. appreciated in advance
