Can't upload MIB

I'm trying to upload new MIB's into NAgios XI, and all I'm getting is this error.

"MIB could not be installed - directory permissions may be incorrect."

any idea of how to fix this.

Yep, this is a permissions problem, run

Code: Select all

chown root:nagios /usr/share/snmp/mibs
chmod g+w /usr/share/snmp/mibs

Then you should be able to upload your mibs

I'd like to throw in a "me too" on this one... I'm trying to add an APC .mib file for my UPS and PDU units. My permissions show a little different than the previous poster:

So I've already got the g+w permission on the mibs directory (along with the sticky bit?), but I still can't upload through the Nagios web interface. What else can I check?

Hate to dig this one up but I'm experiencing the same problem... and with APC MIB's too.

Permissions have been configured according to the previous replied. Here is the 'll' on the two directories, any ideas?
