Nagios Core with 64bit windows machine

Is there any possible way to use nagios core in 64bit windows machine? i tried with 32bit installer,but it was a failed attempt. Please help me if someone can

Can you share any documentation you are following? Nagios Core is only meant to be installed on Linux based systems.

Or if you are having troubles installing Nagios Core on a 64-bit Virtual Machine, you might check your motherboard's BIOS setting specific to virtualization.

Nagios runs on Linux systems.

It is possible to run Nagios in a virtual machine on a Windows system using something like VMWare, but you would need to have the virtual machine hypervisor already.

HI there,

I tried a lot and successfully installed Nagios XI trial version in my linux mint machine through vmvare.
After that i tried to connect nagios XI with solarwinds.My intention is , nagios XI should send alert to solarwinds as syslog.

So its my question, is it possible to do above mentioned configuration..? kindly help me if someone can.It will be a graceful for me

nagios XI should send alert to solarwinds as syslog.

You'd probably need to write a custom event handler for that. The work would be non-trivial if you're not already well acquainted with Nagios concepts and objects.

If you want SolarWinds to capture the entire Nagios log and handle the parsing within SolarWinds, you can typically find the main Nagios log file here:

/usr/local/nagios/var/nagios.log

At which point, you'd just configure rsyslog to ship that file to SolarWinds and that would be the end of things from the Nagios machine's perspective.
