Event Log is blank

Post by ab3pu »

We had a problem with our VM this weekend. Nagiosxi is no longer reporting problems, Event log is blank, even past events from weeks ago.

Any ideas?

take a look at your nagios log folder - any mention of a corrupt database at all?

Is there a specific log file I should look at?

It is ok to treat me like the noob I am on this. :-)

Also...I don't if this means anything. My host status summary and service status summary show 2 down, and 33 critical respectively.

However when I drill down, I get 0-0 of 0 total records.

i don't have an xi system up, but an easy way to look at what the staff would diagnose is admin -> system profile -> download profile - look through this compiled list of different log files to see if anything looks off.

if you see any errors in the db, just run /usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/repair_databases.sh from the command line of the XI server to fix them.
