If this is still unresolved, I'd like to know if you can you give us the names of those 26 services. There is a regex "bug" that we've seen in 5.4.5 that we've not been able to reproduce internally. Whatever the conditions for the "bug", they seem to be pretty rare, since we last saw it (as far as I'm aware) almost exactly a month ago.

Resolution:
1. Clean start of Nagios.
2. Configure->Core Config Manager
3. Config File Management
4. Delete Files
5. Apply Configuration
6. Write Configs
7. Verify Files
8. Saw multiple warnings that duplicate services were defined for various hosts. All of them referenced the error being in the same .cfg file for host "carto.irea.us".
9. Configure->Core Config Manager
10. Services
11. Deleted all services for carto.irea.us
12. Apply Configuration
13. Hosts
14. Deleted host carto.irea.us
15. Config File Management
16. Delete Files
17. Apply Configuration
18. Write Configs
19. Verify Files
20. No warnings
21. Unknown services now gone.
