This is a note for the development team, hopefully they can address it on the next CCM release.
I'm using Nagios XI 2011R2.2 (with Nagios Core 3.2.3).
When I de-activate a host, service, etc. by unchecking its Active checkbox, when I attempt to apply the configuration changes I'll get an error like:
Error: Could not find any hostgroup matching 'SomeHost' (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/services/SomeService.cfg', starting on line 123)
Inevitably, this is caused by old configuration files remaining in the /usr/local/nagios/etc/ directory tree. If I manually delete the old config file(s), I can then apply the configuration changes.

Can you describe in details all of the steps you took, so that we can try to recreate this issue?

I'm in the middle of other things right now. When I get a chance, I'll go through the steps and try to document things for you.
