why is it so hard to remove host being monitored?

Post by ikekim »

Using Nagios XI, I'm testing different hosts to be monitored.

I use the configuration wizard to add IP addresses of the target hosts and all goe sokay.

But I want to delete some of these hosts that I configured is not so easy to remove or delete.

The only place that I see to delete the host is from the Core Configuration Manger where I can select the host and click the delete icon.
However, I always get a message "Object still has dependent relationships! Item was not deleted."

How do I remove hosts from being monitored in Nagios XI?

thanks,
ik.

This is usually caused by services still being associated with the host and the error will usually say which ones need to either be removed or modified to to apply to that host. You can find services in the CCM under Monitoring > Services.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.

Thanks - that worked.

I deleted all services first and then I was able to delete the host!
