Mass edit parameters on services

Post by tribbink »

Hi,

Initially the defaults where entered on creating hosts and services in NagiosXI.
With 200 hosts with each approx. 10 services, i have to manually edit each service on notifications settings etc.

How can i edit all the desired parameters in all services?
For example the parameter "wait for notification 5 min" on every service.

Thanks

You can modify the template that these services are using. For example, if all of your services are using the "xiwizard_generic_service" template, you can modify this template. This will affect all of your services, using this template.
If you would like to change settings on a few services later, you can do it through the Core Config Manager under "Service Management", and this will override the template for these services only.

Hope this helps.

All services have already been set up, so changing the template does not affect them, i think.
Under service management, i can only edit all services one by one, not really an option.
Are there other ways to mass change services?

Thanks

In case you cannot use a template to "mass change" services, you can try the steps outlined on our wiki page:
