Does anyone else have this issue with the VMWare plugin? I notice there are 3 comments on the plugin at nagios exchange with the same issue.
"ESX3 CRITICAL - Auth file must contain both username and password" showing up on all my VMWare checks. I have followed this guide to the letter http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagi ... ios_XI.pdf and I have got this working on 3 or 4 previous installs for clients. It appears there may be a problem with the latest VMware SDK version 5 and this plugin?
Can someone please confirm as it is driving me nuts!
Cheers,
Snook
VMWare Plugin - ESX3 CRITICAL - Auth file must contain both
Re: VMWare Plugin - ESX3 CRITICAL - Auth file must contain b
I just resolved this.
Appears to be an error with the plugin itself, as it creates this file "/usr/local/nagiosxi/etc/components/vmware/VM01_auth.txt" but it puts the username and password on one line. I had to separate them and put them on seperate lines and BAM it works.
Bug in the plugin. Hope someone resolves soon.

Glad you resolved it. We actually fixed this error but you would need to re-install the wizard with the new version.
