Issue applying Nagios configuration

Post by Gpeterkin »

Made some changes to Nagios XI and after applying the configuration i am getting the following error.

Error: Could not expand hostgroups and/or hosts specified in host escalation (config file '/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostescalations.cfg', starting on line 49)

The changes were to remove several hosts.

I have resorted to editing the flat file but Nagios XI is rolling back the changes.

Please provide whatever assistance you can.

Thanks,

Hello, @gip0. Did you remove the hosts using the web interface? If not, let's try to remove them using the web interface.
1)Revert the XI to the last working snapshot. In Configure/Core Configuration Manager in the left column click on Configuration snapshots, restore the last successful one and after that click on Apply configuration. 2) Click on Hosts in the left column and delete your hosts from there. If there were any services associated with these hosts you need to remove them first. Click on services and delete them. 3) click on apply configuration
Let us know if you still get the same error.
