NCPA!!!

Post by ponnpr7 »

Does NCPA support or capable to pull physical hw information like server/blade status?

Linux Distribution and version? Centos 6.9
32 or 64bit? 64
VMware Image or Manual Install of XI? VM
Are there special configurations on your system, ie; is Gnome installed? Are you using a proxy? Are you using SSL? None

What is the version of NCPA that you are currently using? Do you see any relevant information under the system API Endpoint? If not, you could always find a custom script on Nagios Exchange (or Google) that does the job for you, and call it via NCPA.

Note: I was told by our developers that newer versions of NCPA will be able to pull some hardware info, including temperatures, etc.

NCPA Version 2.0.5. I didn't see anything related to physical HW layer info.

Have you looked on the Nagios Exchange for any suitable plugins? I would start here: https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/P ... r-Hardware

You could also write your own, custom plugin (if you had a developer, who could do it) by following the Nagios Plugin Development Guidelines.

If this is not an option, you could contact our sales team at [email protected] and request a quote for a custom development. Of cause, you could also wait for our developers to include this functionality in one of the future releases of NCPA. Thank you!

What were you looking for at the hardware layer? Most vendors (nVidia, Dell, HP, Samsung, Seagate, AMD, Intel, etc) have their own agents for accessing hardware level information. Some of those agents play well with Nagios, but most don't. There's not much directly integrated with Windows in regards to hardware layer information.
