Hi
I currently have NagiosXI 5.4.10 running on RHEL6 which I want to migrate to RHEL7. The problem is that the old installation was done through binary installation and it has 2 databases. Postgress and MySQL. While the new one is RPM installation and comes only with MySQL.
How can I backup and restore to the new installation with only 1 database?

Re: NagiosXI migration
Hi @sib,
1. Before doing any migration, you need to backup your XI.The doc below will give you guidance on how to do that.
Backing-Up-And-Restoring-Nag XI
2. To want to backup and restore your databases follow the guide below:
nagios-xi-manual-backup-and-restore-databases
3.After you restore on the new system your can convert your postgress database to MySQL so you have one database. To do this please follow the guide below:
converting-postgresql-to-mysql-for-nagios-xi
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: NagiosXI migration
Hi
Thanks that actually worked well.
Another question. When importing the backup file on the new system. Is there a way I can prevent nagios to do any sort of notification? I want to prevent the system of sending alerts everywhere because the checks will not work by the time I import it.

Go to Notification options on the left corner and unclick all notification options in all tabs that is email, text etc. Please let me know if works out for and if you have any other questions.

Hi
I thought this setting gets overwritten when I restore the backup file. Also I need to make sure that when imported no one gets any notification. Not just nagiosadmin.

Re: NagiosXI migration
You could do a scheduled downtime for all of your hosts/services or hostgroups/servicegroups.
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... s%20XI.pdfScheduling downtime is an effective way to prevent unnecessary or unwanted notifications from being received during a period of
expected service interruption
Re: NagiosXI migration
This case can be closed. All working for now.
