NRDS Passive Service Level Notifications not working...help!

Post by rainman@303 »

Nagios XI v.5.4.11

We are using NRDS to monitor number of distibuted hosts via Passive Checks. I have all of the passive checks grouped first by check command and they by service groups. Due to the integrations we have with other hosted services that our notifications are sent to we need to only send out notifications at the service level and not the host level. However, none of the service level notifications are sent when the check command associated with it goes to critical or warning. when i go to the "Service Status Detail" and "send a custom notification" it does send to all the contacts and contact groups associated with the service.

I am at a loss and hope that someone has had this issued and resolved it.

Hello, rainman@303. I would like to take a look at how the alert settings were configured for these passive checks. Please navigate to Core Configuration Manager and click on one of the checks. Can you upload screenshots of the Alert Settings tab and Check Settings tab here?

rainman@303, I would like to see the host template as well. Actually, it would be easier if we could take a look at the whole Nagios profile:
To send us your system profile. Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
Click the "Download Profile" button
Save the profile.zip file and upload it with your next post. Or you could use a cloud storage of your choice and share a link with me in pm.

Can you also pick one of the passive service checks in service status summary, go to advanced settings and submit a critical passive check. Make sure that the service state changed from OK to Critical, and that it says HARD. After that please go to home screen, click on Incident Manager/Notifications. Click on Run(there should be some indication of the new notification). Please include the screenshot of that page.
