Dear Expert
When our Management ask the Down Time (we called it Outage Period) of a link (Host/Service), we have to go little extra mile to calculate it. The attached is explained in detail to add as feature.
Please add as a feature.......Please keep it whatever exist there, its additional feature, user will select from drop down Vertical/Horizontal style.

Re: Host/Service State History - Additional Feature
Just to be sure, you would like to add a feature request for showing the total time of when a host/service was in a "down" state and then back to an "up" state in the state history report?
Is it only for down/up? What if the service was warning/up?
I'm just trying to figure out the best use case for the feature request.

Re: Host/Service State History - Additional Feature
Dear Kyang
See the attached (now the example of a Service), previously it was example of a Host. In both conditions States selected as : HARD . Currently the State History UP/Down(Critical) showing vertically, so bring them in one line (horizontally) and calculate the outage period UPTIME minus DOWNTIME in HHH:MM:SS (hours) (simple subtraction)
UP DOWN(Critical)
UP DOWN(Critical)
If when user select the Host/Service State History and currently its in Down/Critical State, the UPTIME will remain blank with NO OUTAGE, user will do the needful. (below example)
DOWN 13:00
UP 09:00
DOWN 08:00
UP 06:00
The above will show like below (the Outage will be empty/blank) if Link is currently DOWN or user did not select the last state=DOWN
MyHost/MyServ UP blank (Empty) 13:00 DOWN Outage (blank) because Host/Link still down
MyHost/MyServ 09:00 UP 08:00 DOWN 01:00:00 Outage 1 hour between 08:00 to 09:00
MyHost/MyServ 06:00 UP Down blank Outage (blank) user has to select DOWN state

Re: Host/Service State History - Additional Feature
Thanks for the additional information. I will put this into a feature request for you, but there is no guarantee of a timeline or whether it will be implemented or not.
It looks like an outage report feature request has already been submitted. Under our internal task_id=3942
You could always PM one of us Techs to get an update on the feature request in a few weeks or so.
You could have this feature implemented through custom development. By emailing our sales department [email protected] for a quote.
