Swap Usage vs Swap Free

Hello,

We realized that we have some linux servers with the service "Swap Usage" while others have a service "Swap Free". I checked and apparently the current version of the wizard creates a "Swap Usage" service, while actually reporting the % of Swap which is free. My best guess is that this name was changed in some version of the wizard, while the old name makes much more sense regarding what is reported. Do you have any idea wahy this was changed?

What wizard are you referring to, i.e. Linux Server, Linux SNMP, NCPA, etc.? Frankly, I don't remember seeing it as "Swap Free" (ever)... Are you sure that this name was indeed created by one of our wizards? It is possible that the service was renamed in the past...
Having said that, I can see your point but "usage" in the service name also makes sense - knowing how much is free tells you basically how much is used (what the usage is). We can change the service name but that wouldn't make much difference.

The Wizard is Linux Server. I don't know exactly when the older services were created, we have Nagios XI since 2011. I don't think we renamed this...
I find "Swap Usage" very misleading. It creates the impression that the service reports how much of the Swap available is used, while the service actually reports how much of it is free.

I just heard back from our developers. They won't be changing the service description, at least not anytime soon. With the current version of Nagios Plugins, the check_swap returns the free value and that ALL the wizards in XI use swap usage, and always have.
