I have a stack of 2 x Dell N3024 switches and I want to monitor the status of the stacking cables.
I am using the Switch/Router Configuration wizard to setup monitoring of the switch stack (using SNMPv1)
I found it confusing associating the port ID in the Nagios Wizard to the physical ports or port ids in the switch config beyond the basic 24 ports (bit complicated by having half the ports in each switch in LAGs) but think I 've managed it for all the regular ports but not sure how (or if) I can monitor the stacking links.
Are they in the list? if so what unit/port ids?
The list has 4 ports listed on each unit in the stack with a speed of 4.29 Gbs I guesed these were the Stacking port but they go critical right off even though the stacking cables are in and working.
Thanks
Chris

Re: Dell N3024 monitor stacking cables
I'm not entirely sure on how to monitor stacking cables?
Would monitoring the ports of the stacking cables work?
Are these the only ports that are listed as critical when running the wizard? (Are there other ports that have stacking cables connected that do work?)
