changing display time in web interface
Is it possible to have times in XI adjusted for the user's time zone? It seems like a standard thing, and the fact that I can't find it makes me suspect the functionality just isn't there. We have users all over the world, and it would make things a lot easier for everyone if they didn't have to do that kind of conversion all the time.

You are correct - currently this functionality is not available in XI. There are plans for implementing it in one of the future versions of Nagios XI but it may not be in 5.5.

Okay, thanks for the confirmation. I understand there is some more granular user customization coming along, probably in 5.6, so hopefully this will make the cut. Is it possible to make a formal feature request?lmiltchev wrote:You are correct - currently this functionality is not available in XI. Sure. Describe in details the functionality that you would like to see in XI. We will file an internal feature request for you. Thank you!

Feature Request
Currently the time displayed in the Nagios XI web interface is the same as the XI server's system time. Our Nagios system is used by people all over the world, and almost none of them are in the same time zone as the server. As a result users must convert from system time to local time to determine when events took place, and do the opposite in order to do things like schedule downtime for hosts or services. It would be a much more user friendly experience if a user could select their local time zone in their account settings and let the application do that conversion for them. Please consider including this functionality in a future release of Nagios XI.

Re: changing display time in web interface
i know time is embedded heavily in Nagios, which could make it difficult to fine comb.
one idea would be to set everything in GMT by default, and allow user based offsets on that.

@mikestevenson I filed an internal feature request for adding this functionality. If the feature is approved and later implemented, it would show up in the changelog here:

I will be closing this topic now. If you have any more questions, please start a new thread. Thank you!
