Hi,
We would like to know the Nagios XI Licensing recommendation for below requirement
Monitor the Oracle DB and SQL DB metrics (DB availability, Table space etc)
Total servers - 114
Among 114 servers Oracle DB servers are 86 (170 DB instances)
Among 114 servers SQL DB servers are 28 (1045 DB instances)
Kindly let us know which license is suitable for this requirement.

Re: Need suggestion on Nagios XI Licensing
It's impossible to say without knowing how many services you are going to be checking for those, but it seems like 1 XI server would be enough, unless you are saying 28*1045, in which case, we are looking 3 or 4 probably, but a service count would be best to give you an accurate estimate.
Re: Need suggestion on Nagios XI Licensing
As we are looking for purely on Monitoring of SQL and Oracle DB Metrics monitoring.
My query is Server will have multiple DB instances, so the license cost is based on Server or DB instance ? Please clarify.

Re: Need suggestion on Nagios XI Licensing
Our licensing is by host and/or node. My question is, essentially, how much load will be on this server? Until you give us a service count, I can't tell you how many servers you will need to handle the load.
Let's say you have one db, but want to run 30,000 query checks against that one Oracle db. It will depend on the frequency of the check, but ultimately, you are likely going to need two XI servers in that case.
At this point, I think the best course of action for you is to email [email protected]
