SNMP traps

Post by naga.aripaka »

->We have configured snmp traps. All we get in the snmptt.debug is sleep for 5 seconds. Did all the troubleshooting but nothing helps.

->And also, uploaded many MIBS. snmptt.conf looks messy because not all mibs are properly converted. How can I reset that ?

Did you follow https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios_XI.pdf to setup and troubleshoot? If so, did you make sure to follow https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=559 as well? It can be easy to miss and you wouldn't be the first.

The snmptt.conf file can be edited with any text editor - vi for example.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.

I added or converted more than 1000 MIBS. Written into that conf file now. Can I get the default conf file and replace ?

The default conf file for snmptt.conf will be blank if you haven't set up any traps.

Are you looking to start over? I would save the conf file you have now, just in case.

Create the new snmptt.conf with the proper permissions, and when you upload the mibs through the UI, "process traps" is what mibs will be written to the snmptt.conf file.
