Bulk edit hostgroup members

Post by chrisfritz »

I am looking for a way to bulk edit device settings in host group, specifically the "check settings" and "alert settings". I have hundreds of devices divided into groups and I need to change the "notification period", "notification interval", "check period" and edit the contacts group more efficiently than changing the settings on each individual device. We are running NagiosXI 2011 R2.2 on CentOS 5.5. Thank you.

This feature will be built in to our new revision of the CCM. Attached is the public beta of it if you'd like to give it a try. It installs as a component through the Admin->Manage Components page.

Thank you, I installed the CCM component and do see under "Configuration options" "Nagios CCM Beta" but I am not sure on how to proceed to use it to edit bulk settings. Can you please provide me with assistance on how to do this. Greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

Go to "Nagios CCM Beta" -> Advanced -> Bulk Modifications -> "Change A Single Config Option"

Just to clarify it is under:

"Nagios CCM Beta" -> Tools -> Bulk Modifications -> "Change A Single Config Option"

The one thing I don't see is the ability to add contact groups to host groups. Looks like you can only add single contacts at a time to hosts.

I will continue to test this feature, Thank You again.
