I resolved the issue with the disk space checks.
The problem seems to have been the introduction of the "exclude_fs_types" option. Removing the fstypes we are interested in monitoring and then restarting the client has fixed it. (we had some cifs and nfs mounted file systems we wanted monitored).

Go to Admin > System Extensions > Manage Config Wizards, click on "Check for Updates", then click on "Install Updates".
