Operations Screen Issue

Post by ajwusv »

I am using the XI Operations Screen addon but there is a slight issue with it.

Not every host shows the proper alias. Each host I create I setup the same way with the same format alias Store XXXXX Router.

Ive attached a screenshot of the issue. I've started looking at the merlin.php file located at /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components as that file seems to be the one that pulls the host info.

This is the link for the addon Operations Screen that I am using

Any ideas?
Thanks

I have replicated this, but it isn't a problem in the component, the problem I believe is in ndoutils, which isn't updating the nagios database if you save an item and then edit the alias after the fact..

this is going to take a while to dig into this bug.

Thanks Scott.

And you are right in the fact that I create the host and then go back into the new host to edit the Alias, the display name, and I add lat/long into the Notes under Misc settings for the Google Maps display.

I have sent this issue to our developer that works on ndoutils to take a look.

We were just talking with a developer for ndoutils about it today. The problem is noted and a developer is working on it. The fix (once created) will likely make it into the next release or two.

If it isn't too difficult, once created I will post an incremental fix here

I don't have a timeframe, but this will likely not roll out until the 2012 release because it will require an upgrade to core and ndoutils and custom mods need to be made for these both to work correctly with XI.
