disable alert

Is there a way to disable alert for short period during maintenance windows? I have several hundreds host/service. I don't want to go and disable each individual host/service. Is there an easy way to to this, so all my admins don't get flooded with alerts message.

This is what I did but the things that is not working for me is that the admin still got flooded with message alerts for maintenance start and stop time. There were around 1500 email alerts. Is there a way to schedule maintenance without alerts?

Each user can pick their own email settings, or an admin can set them. If you take a look at https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ml#contact you will see that there are separate options for hosts and services.

Of note:

s = send notifications when host or service scheduled downtime starts and ends.
