Verify Nagios Service Dependency with Windows Firewall

Post by udaykumar »

Hi Team,

Can you please confirm us , is there any dependency between firewall and nsclient.
Recently while we are trying to trouble shoot the agent, automatically fire wall rules are enabled which lead to outage in our environment.

Generally you need port 5666 & 12489 open on the server you are monitoring with nsclient.

Hi,

Thanks for reply.
we enabled ports. So just want to know while restarting the nagios service in server will it effect fire wall by any chance ?

is there any relation between firewall and agent restarting in windows ??

No, the agents/nagios does not control the firewalls
