Microsoft OS vs. Linux

Is it possible to install and run Nagios Core on a server running a microsoft OS and cygwin, as opposed to a linux box?

You may want to take a look at this project:

I am not sure how it will work - never tried it. There is a nagios addon for Firefox that you can use in Windows:
