Passive Checks never timing out

I have implemented some passive checks via NSCA. I can get the service checks to update correctly but, if no checks are recieved for over an hour the service nevers times out.

What I would like to be able to do if no checks are recieved for a period of time mark the service as down or unreachable etc.

What/where in the configurations do I need to change.
