How can I delete a switch? I trying using the web the relationship status will not let me. I also cannot break the relationship on the web. Any help will be appreciated.

Is there a way Nagios can grab the same naming functions that are on cisco switches?

The switch wizard(https://www.nagios.com/solutions/switch-monitoring/) allows naming with the port number, description, or name. Do any of those options give you what you're looking for?
When you delete a host you must first delete the services associated with it. Note that the monitoring wizard also creates a mrtg config for the host on the file system under /etc/mrtg/conf.d/ that should be deleted manually if the host is removed via the UI.
